This is not an African Ashiko drum.
A custom designed Youth Drum offered exclusively by World Wide Drums. By popular demand, we designed this drum specifically for rhythm base curriculums of preschools, kindergarten and other programs for small children.
Our Youth Drum is based on our very popular Ashiko Drum design. Unlike other drums for small children, this drum has small legs which allows the drum to sit on the floor or ground and let the sound and air pressure escape when played. This eliminates the need for the child to hold the drum up off the ground while playing. Drums that sit flat on the floor are “choked†and don’t make a true drum sound.
This drum was created in Ghana, West Africa. Children get the experience of playing an authentic hand made African drum.
