This set of iron Apitua Bells are hand forged in West Africa by experienced blacksmiths. They are also known as Banana Bells, Toke or Atoke Bells. The large bell measures 11 inches long, the medium bell is 8.5 inches and the small bell is 6 inches long. Since these Apitua bells are hand crafted, the measurements can vary slightly. Often played with the Djun Djun drums by attaching to the top of the drum through the lacing. They are also simply held in the hand and played. The Apitua Bell is played with an iron striker which is included. This is a fun and inexpensive addition to the drum circle or ensemble. Sold as a set, as seen here, or individually.
